Falling Down

Jonny Walker has contributed to almost every project listed on this discography. We have been playing music together since we met in Edinburgh in 2019. We used to meet in my flat on Dalkeith Road and play our way through the greats, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Daft Punk, the list goes on. Just about as we were ready to take our first set out to the pubs of Scotland the world was struck by the pandemic.
By the time venues were properly opening up again jobs, times, flats had all changed - the free time we used to have all but disappeared. In one of our last precious jams together before I left Edinbugh, we came up with the silly-but-irresistable hook for Falling Down. It had this great classic soul feel to it and the rest of the song wrote itself.
It sat gathering dust on my hard drive for a year until we could decide what to do with it. We came up with the idea of writing a few more songs that could be from the same era and putting out a little EP. Jon came down to my home studio in Toxteth and we set to it, I Said Lover and Kaleidoscope Society we're jams from that day and Turn Around was from another session. Jon wrote Love Today in Edinburgh and we recorded our parts remotely.
For personel, Jon is on anything fretted and I'm playing anything else. The EP was mastered by Ste from What Studio in Liverpool. The album art is a picture I took in Üsküdar, İstanbul.
